If you haven’t created the discs already, it’s strongly recommended that you do so.
The Recovery CD-DVD Creator software can be used to create the discs for your computer.
This software can be used to create only 1 set of recovery discs. If you already created the set, you won’t be able to create a new disc.
If you don’t have the Recovery CD-DVD Creator software installed and neither the recovery partition intact, you can use your original Windows XP installation disk or go to Download recovery disk for Compaq.
Several notes about the software before you continue:
If you already created a set of discs already, Recovery CD-DVD Creator will not allow you to create a new set of discs
You need to use blank and writeable CDs or DVDs. It’s recommended that you use blank CD-Rs or DVD+Rs, and not DVD-Rs.
